Leah Tal JudaicaI recently had the privilege of filming with Leah Tal—a masterful Judaica artist whose work will make your heart skip a beat.
Leah paints Jewish motifs and family trees in vivid, ornate detail onto oil-painted skin drums. The results are gorgeous and quietly demanding—the kind of pieces that force you to take a deep breath and take it all in. She works out of a gorgeous studio in the Jerusalem House of Quality, overlooking the Old City and the valley beneath. What struck me most was how passionately Leah pours herself into her art. She shares a deep bond to Israel with her customers, and that shared love shines through each one of her pieces. Filming her was a reminder of why I do this work—some stories just deserve to be told.
